The first book will be released as early as September 5
Silvio Berlusconi (1936-2023), the Italian businessman and politician, admired and remembered by millions of people not only in Italy but around the world, returns with books he read and would probably like to read. On Tuesday, June 25, Italian publishing group Mondadori officially announced the creation of a new publishing house, Silvio Berlusconi, which will become an integral part of the Mondadori Group. The first book, to be released on September 5, will be a translation of the essay “On Leadership,” written by British Prime Minister from 1997 to 2007 and longtime Labour Party leader Tony Blair.
Subsequently, between late 2024 and 2025, there will be a volume titled “The End of the Regime. How Three European Dictatorships Ended” by contemporary Russian writer Alexander Baunov and “The Cigarette Paper Boys” by Italian writer Walter Siti.
According to the Italian press, “it has been known for some time that the president of the Mondadori group, Marina Berlusconi, daughter of Silvio Berlusconi, wanted to create a publishing house dedicated to the memory of her father, but so far its creation has not been officially announced.” Initially, the new publishing house will produce two series: one devoted to unpublished and contemporary works, the other to classics that will be republished.
The trademark “Silvio Berlusconi Editore” was registered back in 1990 at the idea of Marcello Dell’Utri, co-founder of the Forza Italia party and friend of Berlusconi, but was later sold to the Mondadori group, which used the famous trademark to publish the “Library of Utopia” series, composed of political and philosophical essays.
