Tycoon Elon Musk, who now also has a political role to play given his support for Donald Trump’s campaign and the role he will play in the next US government, criticized the European Union via his X social network, saying the EU Commission is anti-democratic.
“The European Parliament should vote on issues directly, not cede powers to the European Commission,” he wrote on X the day after the vote lending credibility to von der Leyen.
“This,” Musk explains, “is anti-democratic. The EU Parliament should vote directly on issues, not delegate powers to the EU Commission.”
Just a few weeks ago, the South African-born billionaire intervened in Italian politics over a decision by Rome court judges to return to Italy seven migrants who had been diverted to the Gjader center in Albania. “These judges must go,” he also wrote on X.
