There are 11.122 million unemployed in the eurozone and 13.258 million in all 27 EU countries
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated in June 2024 for the euro area is 6.5%, up slightly (+0.1%) compared to May 2024 and stable compared to June 2023. This figure drops to 6% when all 27 countries in the EU’s eurozone are taken into account.
The data were released by the EU Statistics Institute (Eurostat), which estimates that 13.258 million people in the EU are unemployed (11.122 million in the eurozone).
Regarding youth unemployment, as of June 2024, there are 2.831 million young people (counting people under 25) in the EU (2.270 million in the eurozone), with youth unemployment rates of 14.4% in the EU and 14.5% in the eurozone, both down 0.1%. The female unemployment rate in the EU was 6.3%, and the male unemployment rate was 5.8%; in the eurozone, the female unemployment rate was 6.8% and the male unemployment rate was 6.2%.
