French National Rally leader Marine Le Pen denounced the “shady political maneuvers” that took place in the week between the two electoral rounds of the last legislative elections, which “prevented” her party’s victory. “The National Assembly should be a reflection of the representation of the French as a whole in terms of political weight,” Le Pen said after arriving at the National Assembly headquarters with her deputies, referring to the so-called Republican Front organized and exploited by French President Emmanuel Macron’s outgoing majority and the leftists who have united in the New Popular Front.

Meanwhile, French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said he would not vote in favor of “any law” in the National Assembly presented by the leftists gathered in the New Popular Front. The minister assured that he would oppose the “leftist government.” Darmanin, for the moment remaining the occupant of Place Beauvais, the Paris headquarters of the Interior Ministry, was re-elected to the National Assembly in the last legislative elections. “I will immediately censor people and governments that belong to these leftists,” the minister emphasized.
