The son of the US president lied about his drug addiction
Hunter Biden, son of current US President Joe Biden, was found “guilty” by a 12-member jury in federal court in Wilmington, Delaware.
Biden Jr. was accused of lying about using drugs to buy guns, the latter being very easy to do in the US, but is illegal if you are addicted to drugs. There are three charges against the 54-year-old man, the first son of a US president, who was found guilty in court.
Biden will not be jailed until sentencing, which is due within 120 days, according to the judge and reported by Reuters, which is before the November 5 election. However, it was Democrats who could “use” the decision to try to refute Donald Trump’s claims about his presidential rival’s use of the judiciary to win the next election. It wasn’t until May 30 last year that Trump himself became the first former US president to be found guilty of a crime in the Stormy Daniels case.
“I am more grateful for the love and support of my family than I am disappointed with the outcome,” the son of the US president explained, as reported by CNN. “Healing is possible by the grace of God, and I am fortunate to experience this gift each single day, every day.”
At the beginning of the trial, Joe Biden explained: “I’m the president, but I’m also a father,” but did not wish to comment on the process.
