Israeli Minister In Saudi Arabia, First Time

The normalization of relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia is progressing, and today, September 26, an Israeli minister traveled to Saudi Arabia for the first time.

Israeli Tourism Minister Haim Katz landed in Riyadh. The Saudi capital will host official celebrations of World Tourism Day, which this year focuses on green investment in the sector. “Tourism is a bridge between peoples. Cooperation in the tourism sector has the power to unite hearts and create economic prosperity. I will strive to establish cooperation to develop Israel’s tourism and international relations,” Katz said upon arrival.

He also said that Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi and Knesset Economic Affairs Committee Chairman David Bitan would visit Saudi Arabia next week.

Earlier, on September 25, Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen explained that the goal is to reach agreements with Saudi Arabia in the first months of 2024. “We are at a stage where the likelihood of success is unprecedented, this would be one of the most important historical events for Israel,” he said, adding that the agreement would mean “almost the end of the conflict between the Jewish people and the Muslim world.”
