The USA and China are talking about the climate again. It happened this morning at a meeting between US Special Envoy for Climate Change John Kerry and China’s climate chief Xie Zhenhua.
The meeting lasted four hours and marked an important renewal of dialogue on one of the key issues on the agenda of nations around the world. Details of the issues raised by Kerry and Xie have not been made public, but the meeting marks another step forward in diplomatic talks between two countries that are enjoying a positive period less the obstacles dictated by the current “chip war” and a few extreme gaffes by Joe Biden.
Dialogues between China and the US on climate change – let us recall that these are the two nations that emit the most greenhouse gases – were interrupted last year when Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan, provoking the wrath of the Dragon.
