The North Korean leader's daughter is increasingly appearing in public in the company of her father
The fourth leader of the Kim dynasty, which has ruled North Korea since 1948, could be Kim Jong-un’s daughter. Her name is Kim Ju-ae, she must be between 10 and 12 years old.
She was by Kim’s side during the salute to the troops on the 75th anniversary of the Corps’ founding (pictured in February), but she has also been by her father’s side on the occasion of the latest launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, on a visit to the nuclear arsenal, as well as at the opening of various production events. She is called “Korea’s morning star,” but recently, according to South Korean media, the term “hyangdo,” meaning “great leader,” has come to be used, confirming a rumor that has been circulating for some time: she will be the fourth leader of the Kim dynasty.
Not much is known about this little girl; she was supposedly born around 2013 and is the second child of Kim Jong-un and Ri Sol-ju, and we don’t even know the name of her older brother. On the other hand, virtually nothing was known about Kim Ju-ae until 2022.
Observers are also surprised by the fact that in an extremely male-dominated society, the choice was a girl, but the sister Kim Yo-jong has already become a spokesperson in recent years, taking on an increasingly important role starting 2018. At the time, Kim Jong-un’s sister seemed to be the “pretty face” of North Korea. Those were also the years of negotiations with Donald Trump and a possible rapprochement with Seoul. Then, when relations with South Korea and the US began to deteriorate again, the attitude also changed, becoming aggressive and provocative.
According to observers, until a few months ago, Kim Yo-jong was the designated heiress. Now her niece has caught up with her. The fact remains that despite his far from perfect form and the mystique surrounding some of his suspicious “disappearances” from the public stage (there were even rumors that he was dying), Kim Jong-un is only 41 years old.
