Despite chip wars and protectionism, the need for travel between the United States and China is growing. Ties between the two powers will expand significantly starting March 31, Chinese Civil Aviation Administration spokesman Dai Jun told China’s Xinhua news agency.
“China currently has regular passenger services with 64 countries, of which 48 are Belt and Road partner countries,” Dai said. “Starting March 31, Chinese and US airlines will be able to operate a total of 100 scheduled passenger flights per week. China will further promote the resumption of international flights to better meet people’s travel needs.”
The sector recovered quickly after restrictions related to the covid pandemic were lifted. The number of flights between China and 22 countries, including Singapore, Australia, UAE, UAE, UK, and Italy, has already exceeded the pre-pandemic level.
