This follows from a new New York Times / Siena College poll
Donald Trump continues to be the favorite in the polls. The presidential election will be held on November 5, and according to a recent poll by the New York Times, Siena College, and the Philadelphia Inquirer, the former president is ahead of Joe Biden in five key states. Trump leads in Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, while only one swing state, Wisconsin, has Biden in the lead.
Specifically, among registered voters, Trump leads in Pennsylvania 47% to 44%, Arizona 49% to 42%, Michigan 49% to 42%, Georgia 49% to 39%, and Nevada 50% to 38%, while Biden’s lead in Wisconsin is 47% to 45%.
However, when likely voters are taken into account, the difference is not that big, and Biden should win in Michigan, while lagging narrowly behind in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
The results would not change significantly, even with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. in the battle, running as an independent and averaging about 10% of the vote in the mentioned states.
What worries Democrats, according to the New York Times, is the shrinking vote among young people and voters of color that are unhappy with the war in Gaza and the rising cost of living. The divisive issue of immigration is also important.
