This will be done to protect Israel after Iran threatened retaliation for the assassination of the Hamas leader in Tehran
The situation in the Middle East has become increasingly heated following the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in the Iranian capital Tehran.
Tehran’s retaliation will be “brutal” and will happen “at the right time, place, and by the right means.” The warning came from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in a message sent to Israel, which the Pasdaran called a “terrorist regime.”
In response to these threats, the United States said it would “substantially” increase its military presence in the Middle East, deploying additional warships and fighter jets to defend Israel and protect US citizens at risk.
According to Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh, “the Department of Defense continues to take steps to reduce the possibility of regional escalation by Iran or its partners and allies.”
Meanwhile, contradictory rumors are multiplying regarding the “technical” side of Haniyeh’s murder. While Britain’s Telegraph newspaper says that Mossad “recruited two Iranian security agents to plant explosives in three separate rooms of the building where the Hamas political leader was staying,” according to Pasdaran, the Hamas political leader was killed by “a short-range missile with a 7-kilogram warhead fired from outside.”
