Pope’s Appeal to Countries at War: Stop and Negotiate

Another call for peace from the Holy Father after the Marian Antiphon of the Roman Catholic and Old Catholic Churches “Regina Cæli” on April 7

“Let us make no mistake in our prayer for peace, a just, lasting peace, especially for the tormented Ukraine, as well as for Palestine and Israel.”

At the conclusion of Regina Cæli on Sunday, April 7, Pope Francis returned to the bloody conflicts in Europe and the Middle East. And today, 6 months after Hamas attacked Israel, the Holy Father reiterated the need to stop the weapons and move to words and negotiations.

“May the spirit of the risen Lord enlighten and support those who are working to reduce tensions and encourage the gestures that make negotiations possible. May the Lord enable the leaders to stop for a while and come to an agreement, to negotiate.”
