The partnership between Italy and Uzbekistan provides for the expansion of cooperation in various political, economic, and cultural fields.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is visiting Italy. Over the past few hours, the leader of the Central Asian state met with the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, and then with Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, declaring his readiness to establish “strategic partnerships in order to deepen and expand cooperation between the two countries and relevant civil societies, both on a bilateral and multilateral basis.”
The partnership between Italy and Uzbekistan provides for the expansion of cooperation in the fields of international politics, defense and security, in the legal sector, trade, economic, cultural, and scientific areas, all the way to education and tourism.
Mirziyoyev is the first President of Uzbekistan to pay an official visit to our country in more than 20 years, and today he took part in a business forum held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan, in the presence of the President of the Lombardy region, Attilio Fontana.
It was an opportunity to meet with the business world in order to implement new joint initiatives, following the ones already launched, with the world of universities and various companies, for which Uzbekistan can be “an important and reliable partner, a real force and a prospect”.
