Russia is Ready to Work with New US Administration

Russian President Vladimir Putin “has no plans to congratulate Trump”

Maria Zakharova: “Auguriamo al popolo americano di superare la crisi della democrazia e la divisione nella società”.

Russia will work with the new US administration while protecting “national interests and focusing on achieving all objectives of the special military operation in Ukraine.” The Russian Foreign Ministry wrote about this in a special statement, emphasizing that Moscow “has no illusions about the winner of the US election Donald Trump, as well as about the new composition of Congress,” as “the US power elite pursues an anti-Russian policy and a line of containment of Russia.”

For Russia, Trump’s victory “reflects American dissatisfaction” with the results of the presidency of current White House occupant Joe Biden. “There is a deep civic divide in the United States. In reality, it’s a domestic standoff between Democratic and Republican states, as well as supporters of so-called ‘progressive’ and ‘traditional’ values.”

However, if something changes in US policy after Trump’s convincing victory, “Moscow will be ready to evaluate Washington’s potential proposals.” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote this in a note, adding, however, that in general Russia is not interested in the outcome of the US presidential race: “If something changes in US policy and proposals, we will be ready to study these proposals to see if they are in Russia’s interests.” Zakharova also reiterated that Moscow will defend its interests, especially in the area of national security. “It would be logical for the US leader, whoever he is, to focus on solving his country’s problems rather than seeking adventures tens of thousands of miles from American shores,” the Russian diplomat emphasized. “We wish the American people to overcome the crisis of democracy and the division in society,” Zakharova concluded.

After everything that happened between the USA and Russian Federation, President Vladimir Putin has no plans to congratulate Donald Trump on his White House election victory. As Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, “I’m not aware of any plans by the president to congratulate Trump. Let’s not forget that we are talking about a hostile country that directly and indirectly participates in the war against us,” Peskov added at the end.
