President Donald Trump has warmly welcomed UAE billionaire Hussain Sajwani’s (pictured) decision to invest “at least $20 billion to build data centers in the United States.” The president-elect said this, emphasizing that the new US administration is very satisfied with the decision that would allow the United Arab Emirates to “remain at the forefront of technology.”

Sajwani is the owner of DAMAC Properties, a Dubai-based real estate development company. According to Trump, under the terms of the agreement, “Sajwani will invest at least $20 billion in the USA in a very short period of time, and they can double that amount or even more than double it.” The Emirati billionaire will invest in data centers, cloud technology, and artificial intelligence, especially in the Sun Belt states, as well as the US Midwest. The Sun Belt is a region of the United States extending from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific coast, encompassing the southern states of the country.

In this context, Trump reiterated his intention to facilitate the issuance of various types of permits for those companies that invest more than a billion dollars in the USA. First and foremost are environmental permits, and the president-elect emphasized that “Joe Biden’s ban on offshore drilling will certainly not remain in place.”
