US GDP is Growing Faster than Anticipated: +2%

G

The United States reported a 2-percent economic growth in the first quarter of 2023.

This exceeds the forecasts made by analysts who predicted GDP to grow in the range 1.1 to 1.3%. The estimates by the Bureau of Economic Analysis were updated upwards, taking into account the projected export expansion due to recovery of the global economy and consumption, affected by the rising consumer confidence. A slight drop in import should also be mentioned.

The latest data relating to the real GDP, i.e., for the last three months of 2022, shows +2.6% instead.
