USA: Good News for Trump, Mar-a-Lago Case Closed

The former president came under investigation after classified documents were discovered at his Florida residence

Donald Trump’s new success is part of an investigation into the discovery of some government documents at his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.

The former president, who escaped attack on July 13 and who today will likely announce his vice president’s name on the ballot for the November 5, 2024 presidential election, is getting a ruling from Judge Aileen Cannon (a Trump appointee) who ordered that the selection of Jack Smith as special counsel for the investigation was unconstitutional, thus blocking the case. Smith was neither nominated by the President of the United States nor approved by the Senate, violating the US Constitution.

Thus, in the best possible way begins the Milwaukee Republican Convention (July 15-19), where Trump’s presidential candidacy will be formalized.

Trump was indicted in June 2023, after the FBI found confidential documents at his Mar-a-Lago villa in summer 2022, on charges of obstruction of justice by destroying, altering, or falsifying documents and violating the Espionage Act.
