The 60-year-old second-term Minnesota governor is defined as a progressive, for Trump is a “radical leftist”
Tim Walz is the Vice-Presidential Candidate selected by Kamala Harris to be on the ballot for the November 5, 2024 Presidential Election.
The 60-year-old politician, a veteran of the US National Guard and a former teacher, has plenty of political experience: he was already a member of the House of Representatives from 2007 to 2019 and is currently governor of Minnesota, where he is holding his second consecutive term.
“I am pleased to announce that I have made a decision: Minnesota Governor Tim Walz will join our campaign as my vice-presidential candidate. Tim is a proven leader with an incredible track record of success for Minnesota families. I know he will bring that same leadership to our campaign and to the office of Vice President,” commented Harris, who officially clinched the nomination today with 99% of the 4567 delegates supporting her.
Kamala Harris’s campaign website has already been updated with photos of the two politicians, various donation options, and the message “We need to unite to defeat Donald Trump.”
Although Walz is considered a progressive candidate, he will be chosen to turn the wavering Midwest to the left. On the one hand, he is committed to free school meals, climate change, and helping workers; on the other hand, he supports more conservative pro-farmer policies and gun ownership rights. Lately, he has been talked about for using the term “plain weird” referring to the Trump-Vance ticket.
It didn’t take long for Donald Trump’s comment to come out, calling Walz a “left-wing radical,” while his inner circle said that “Harris kneeled before left-wing anti-Semites and anti-Israel opponents and chose someone as dangerously progressive as she is. They’ll get along fine, they’re both left-wing radicals, they don’t know how to govern.”
