Alessandro Banfi

Banfi’s press review appears each morning in the La Versione di Banfi newsletter. He is Director of the Oasis International Foundation, founded by Cardinal Angelo Scola to promote dialogue between Muslims and Christians. He writes for Domani quotidiano, where he had a daily column (Montecavallo)  at the time of the Italian president’s re-election.

He is a longtime contributor to RAIUNO as author of infotainment programmes La Vita in diretta, Unomattina, and Oggi è un altro giorno.

Last autumn, he produced four podcasts, two for Chora Media: Le Vite degli altri, dedicated to Italians recognized by the President of the Republic for service to the community, and Maestre e maestri d’Italia, dedicated to outstanding educators. The other two, entitled Le Figlie della Repubblica, were released for Corriere della Sera.

At Mediaset, Banfi directed TgCom24, the Biscione network’s news channel, beginning with Mattino 5 and then Pomeriggio 5. For more than 10 years, he authored the late-night programme Matrix on Channel 5 and also worked at SKY Italia and RAI, where he was responsible for the RaiUno programme La Vita in Diretta. In the business since 1983, he was political reporter, editor-in-chief, and director of the weekly Il Sabato until 1993.
