Dušan Proroković

Dušan Proroković (1976) is a researcher, political scientist and publicist. Senior Research Fellow and the Head of the Center for Eurasian Studies at the Serbian state Institute on International Politics and Economics in Belgrade, Full Professor at the Faculty of Diplomacy and Security (FDB, University UNION Nikola Tesla) in Belgrade, and also executive director of the think – tank Center for Strategic Alternatives.

Obtained PhDr in political sciences at the Faculty for political sciences and IR, Matej Bel University, Banska Bystrica, Slovakia and PhD in security sciences (international security) at the Faculty for security studies, Belgrade University, Serbia. In the last 15 years he was a political analyst or columnist in several journals, magazines and web portals.

Participated in numerous scientific conferences, author of more than 100 scientific papers and essays and more than a six hundred newspaper articles in the area of international relations, geopolitics, diplomacy and international security. Author of four books – “Kosovo: interethnic and political relations” (2011), “Geopolitics of Serbia: position and perspectives at the beginning of XXI century” (2012, 2014, 2019), “German geopolitics and The Balkans” (2014) and two-volume monograph “The Era of Multi-polarity” (2018).

During the first decade of the 21st century, he was politically engaged, participated in negotiations on the future status of Kosovo under the auspices of the UN as a member of the Serbian/Yugoslavian delegation, in that period he was Chairman of the Committee of Kosovo of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia (2004-2007) and State Secretary for Kosovo of the Government of the Republic of Serbia (2007-2008). He is a member of the China – CEE “16 + 1 Academic Network” and associated with the Russian society of political scientists (Rossiyskoe obshchestvo politologov).

Speaks four foreign languages. Married, five children.
