Surprise, annoyance, resentment. The Russian president’s interview with a conservative American journalist was branded a lie before it was even listened to. A conditioned reflex that even in liberal democracies emerges from afar.

Just as the crisis that has turned Ukraine into a battlefield came from afar. A war that the great elders of diplomacy and international politics of the last century advised not to provoke. Meanwhile, there is an unimpeded fight between the candidates for the White House. Biden vs. Trump and vice versa, as well as guerilla warfare within the two parties, dealing with leaders who are as persistent as they are criticized. In Biden’s case, psychophysical decline is also having a negative impact.
